For variety, add 1 Tbsp. of curry powder and replace the whipping cream with coconut milk. In this case, do not add the bacon.

Ingredients

  • 1 small carrot
  • 1 small leek (white part only)
  • 1 small onion
  • 3 strips bacon
  • 3/4 cup raw lentils
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tsp chopped garlic
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 bay leaf
  • salt, to taste
  • 2/3 cup whipping cream

Preparation

1. Peel the carrot, leek and onion, then cut into small pieces. Dice the bacon.

2. Place the vegetables, lentils, bacon, broth, garlic, thyme and bay leaf in the bowl fitted with the ultrablade knife. Season with salt. Launch the P1 soup program.

3. At the end of the program, remove bay leaf, add whipping cream and mix at speed 12 for 30 seconds.
