Cheese Naans

Bread and pasta 

For plain naans, omit the cheese and just cook the ovals in the skillet.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp dry yeast
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 4 oz. shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese

Preparation

1. Place the flour, yeast, salt, water, oil, yogurt and sugar in the bowl fitted with the kneading/crushing blade. Launch the P1 pastry program for 1 minute. Be careful to leave it in the Prep&Cook to rise for the next 40 minutes of the program.

2. Place dough on a lightly floured surface and divide into 6 balls. Using lightly floured hands, pat into a 1/4-inch thick oval. Sprinkle 1/6 of the cheese on one side, fold dough over and seal edges. Pat to about 1/4-inch thickness. Repeat with remaining dough and cheese.

3. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Cook naans for 1 minute 30 seconds to 2 minutes on each side. Serve warm.
