Hot Artichoke and Crab Dip

Ingredients

  • 1 small onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 (8 oz) pkg cream cheese
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 (12 oz) jar marinated artichokes, drained
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 (6 oz) cans white crab meat, drained
  • 1/4 tsp ground cayenne pepper
  • 2 cups shredded Asiago cheese
  • 1 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley

Preparation

1. Peel and quarter the onion. Peel and roughly chop the garlic. Cut the cream cheese into cubes.

2. Place the onion and garlic in the bowl fitted with the ultrablade knife. Launch at speed 12 for 15 seconds. Add oil and launch the P1 simmer program at 270°F for 5 minutes. Add artichokes. Pulse for 5 seconds.

3. Replace the ultrablade knife with the kneading/crushing blade. Add remaining ingredients, except parsley. Launch the P3 simmer program at 185°F for 15 minutes.

4. Transfer the dip to a serving dish. Sprinkle with parsley and serve with your favorite vegetables and crackers.
