Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 1/2 medium potatoes
  • 2 medium leeks (white parts only)
  • 1 stalk celery
  • 4 medium carrots
  • 2 medium turnips
  • 1/3 lb bacon
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 3 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 tsp marjoram
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Pepper, to taste

Preparation

1. Peel the onion, garlic and potatoes and cut into quarters. Cut and slice the leeks and celery. Peel and dice the carrots and turnips. Trim and dice the bacon.

2. Place olive oil, garlic, onions, bacon and celery in the bowl with mixer. Launch the P1 simmer program at 270°F for 10 minutes.

3. At the end of the program, replace the mixer with the ultrablade knife. Add all remaining ingredients and launch the P2 soup program for 45 minutes.
