Widely regarded as one of the world’s finest culinary arts and pastry schools, The French Culinary Institute has produced some of the world’s most accomplished chefs. The Institute melds classic French techniques with American flair, and has recently introduced an Italian cooking program.
The FCI faculty includes such renowned master chefs as Alain Sailhac, Jacques Pépin, André Soltner, Jacques Torres, and master sommelier Andrea Robinson. Alumni, Bobby Flay, and fellow contemporaries, frequently return to campus as guests lecturers.
Each year, in an effort to encourage excellence and innovation in the pastry arts, the FCI hosts the Golden Scoop Awards at L'Ecole, the critically-acclaimed New York City restaurant owned and operated by the Institute. The awards recognize outstanding achievement in five separate dessert categories.
The French Culinary Institute aspires to the highest standards in every aspect of its instructional programs, faculty, facilities and associations.
