Beef in Peanut Satay Sauce

  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 Tbsp peanut oil
  • 1 lb top round steak
  • 1/4 cup peanut satay sauce (see No 138)
  • 1 cup canned tomatoes
  • 1/3 cup light soy sauce
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/3 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 tsp pepper


1. Peel the garlic and onion. Place in the bowl fitted with the ultrablade knife and chop at speed 11 for 10 seconds.

2. Replace the ultrablade knife with the mixer. Add oil and launch the P1 simmer program at 270°F for 5 minutes. Cut the beef into fine strips.

3. At the end of the program, add beef, satay sauce, tomatoes, soy sauce, pepper and cornstarch dissolved in the chicken broth. Launch the P2 simmer program at 200°F for 55 minutes.

4. At the end of cooking, serve with white rice.
