Grilled Hamburgers with Portabella Mushrooms and Swiss Cheese

  • 1 ¾ lb. ground Angus Beef
  • ¾ Cup finely chopped Portabello mushrooms
  • ¾ Cup Swiss cheese, grated
  • 4 hamburger buns or rolls of your choice
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • Sea salt and freshly ground pepper
  • Boston lettuce (optional topping)
  • Red or yellow tomato, sliced (optional topping)
  • Red or white onion, sliced (optional topping)
  • Mayonnaise or condiment of your choice (optional topping)


Place the ground beef, the chopped mushrooms and the grated cheese in a bowl and use your hands to thoroughly combine, then divide the meat into 4 equal portions. Shape each portion into a thick patty and season with sea salt and pepper. Burgers may be prepared ahead, covered with plastic wrap and refrigerated.

When ready to cook, turn the Grill with AutoSense on, select the “Burger” program and press “OK”. When the preheating phase is complete, there is a beep and the LED stops flashing. Open the grill, place the burgers on the cooking grates and close the lid. The cooking cycle now begins. Cook until the indicator light stays solid next to your desired cooking level, and you hear a beep. We recommend cooking the burgers to MEDIUM. While the burgers are grilling, brush the rolls with the melted butter and set aside to toast on the grill after the burgers have finished cooking. When the burgers have reached your desired temperature, open the grill and transfer the burgers to a plate to rest for 1 minute while the buns are toasting. Serve the Grilled Burgers with the desired toppings and condiments of your choice.
