Tips to Cook on Ceramic Nonstick Cookware

  • Use only low to medium heat to preserve the nonstick coating.
  • Do not preheat the pan while empty, as this can overheat the surface. Always add butter or oil while preheating. Avoid using cooking sprays, especially aerosol sprays, as they often leave a residue that builds up and reduces nonstick performance. We recommend a high smoke point oil such as avocado, grapeseed or coconut oil.
  • When it comes to utensils, stick with silicone, nylon, plastic, or wooden tools. Metal utensils can chip, scratch, or wear down the ceramic.
  • NS PRO® and HA1® Ceramic Cookware is oven safe up to 450°F, while glass lids are safe up to 350°F. This collection is not broiler safe as high heat can degrade the coating.
  • Take extra care when moving your cookware. Do not slide or drag it across the stovetop, as this can scratch both the cookware and the cooktop. Also, avoid exposing hot pans to cold water, which can warp the base or damage the coating due to thermal shock.

Care that Protects Performance

  • Handwash Only. Do not put your nonstick pans in the dishwasher- high heat and harsh detergents can degrade the coating.
  • Always allow the pan to cool completely before cleaning to prevent warping, and wash with warm, soapy water using a soft sponge or cloth.
  • Avoid harsh cleaners, including oven cleaners, bleach, peroxide-based detergents, steel wool, or abrasive scouring pads, all of which can damage the nonstick surface.
  • For stubborn residue or burned-on food, mix a 1:1 paste of baking soda and vinegar, gently apply it to the problem area, scrub softly, rinse thoroughly, and dry.
  • To protect the hard-anodized exterior and ceramic interior, avoid abrasives and store with pan protectors to extend the products lifespan.

FAQs

Ceramic Nonstick

What is the Best Cookware for Me?

The best cookware for you depends on how you cook and what you enjoy making most. A well-rounded kitchen often includes more than one material, each chosen for a specific purpose. Ceramic nonstick pans are a great option for everyday cooking thanks to its smooth food release and ease of use, making them ideal for eggs, vegetables, fish, and quick meals. Paired with stainless steel for tasks that benefit from precise heat control and nonstick cookware for consistent, easy cleanup, ceramic nonstick helps create a cookware collection that feels balanced, versatile, and built to support confidence in the kitchen.

What Is the Difference Between Traditional Nonstick and Ceramic Nonstick Cookware?

Both ceramic nonstick and traditional nonstick cookware are designed to make cooking and cleanup easier by preventing food from sticking. Ceramic nonstick delivers the same excellent food release, making it a strong choice for everyday recipes like eggs, pancakes, and sautéed vegetables. The key difference lies in how the coatings age over time—ceramic nonstick pans are designed for reliable performance when used with low to medium heat and proper care, while traditional nonstick is often chosen for its long-term durability. In a well-rounded kitchen, both materials complement each other and give home cooks flexibility to choose the right pan for each recipe.

What Are the Top Things to Avoid to Maintain the Nonstick Coating's Performance on My Pots and Pans?

High heat can gradually wear down the surface, so cooking on low to medium heat is recommended. Dishwashers should also be avoided, as high temperatures and strong detergents can affect the coating over time. When cleaning, skip aggressive cleaners, abrasive sponges, and heavy scrubbing, and try not to tap or hit utensils against the rim of the pan.
