Cranberry Compote with Citrus Garnish


Cranberries are such a great addition to any holiday table. The tart, acidic, and sweet composition makes them an amazing compliment to your savory main course.

Ingredients

  • 24oz of cranberries, cleaned and picked
  • zest of one lemon
  • zest of one orange
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • ½ cup of orange juice
  • 1 shallot, diced
  • 2 tablespoons of orange liquor such as Grand Marnier
  • ¼ cup of maple syrup
  • 1 cinnamon stick

Directions

  1. Place all of the ingredients in your C2 Copper Soup Pot over medium-high heat. Bring the mixture to a simmer and reduce the heat to medium-low. Simmer until the cranberries pop and the sauce thickens. This should take roughly 15 minutes.
  2. Remove the cinnamon stick from the mixture. Let cool to room temperature.
  3. Refrigerate if making ahead of time. When ready to serve bring it to room temperature.

Pro Tip:

This recipe can be made up to 4 days ahead of time. Before serving, let the compote come to room temperature.
