Ingredients
- 2 Fuji Apples
- 2 Granny Smith Apples
- ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 2 tablespoons of honey
- 6 sprigs of fresh thyme
Directions
- Core and slice each apple lengthwise roughly ¼ inch in thickness. Leave the skin on the apples.
- In a large mixing bowl, add the vinegar, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Whisk to combine.
- In an All-Clad D5 Stainless 3 Quart Sauté Pan, add the butter over medium heat. When the pan is hot and the butter is melted, add the apples in batches in an uncrowded even layer. Let cook undisturbed for 3 minutes.
- Flip onto the other side and cook for an additional 3- 5 minutes. The key is to brown them or get a slightly “roasted” appearance on each side.
- Add 2 tablespoons of the juices to the pan and let reduce for about 1 minute.
- Remove the pan from the heat and immediately add the honey which will help in the caramelization process.
- Serve with your main dish of choice: chicken, duck, or pork.
Pro Tip:
